Case summary

Overall the number of cases stands at 59, with 7 products under investigation and 4 products compliant following case investigation.

The number of cases concerning 5w30 viscosity automotive engine oils incorrectly claiming suitability for use against a number of OEM specifications is still concerning. Automotive engine oil remains the most complained about product sector.

Case 010133 – 5w30 automotive engine oil. This case was reopened following the receipt of communication from a garage owner questioning the validity of claims made on the product.  The case has been resolved subject to a six month review.
