VLS 010224 – PCEO 5W-30
On 20th March 2025 the case was accepted by VLS.
The case concerned the claim against Stellantis specification FPW9.55535/03 for which it was claimed no market general technology was widely available to meet this claim.
The Lubricant Marketer provided robust technical evidence justifying the performance claim.
The Technical Review Panel reviewed the technical information and evidence provided by the Lubricant Marketer in conjunction with this case, which has proven that the company has the right to make the claim against Stellantis FPW 9.55535/03.
Consequently, VLS found that there was no case to answer and so the investigation and case is closed.
David Wright, Company Secretary of VLS said “We want to ensure we have the highest standards in Europe for lubricant manufacture, blending and marketing, and we want a ‘level playing field’ for all participants, so that we protect the interests of the consumer and other end users.
In the Verification of Lubricant Specifications (UK) Ltd, we have set our course for stronger industry self-regulation by working positively towards more open and transparent competition that benefits all lubricant organisations.”
