On 12th November 2025 the case was accepted by VLS.
The case concerned a performance claim against the Stellantis specification FPW9.55535/03.
On the 18th November VLS wrote to the Lubricant Marketer outlining details of the complaint. On the 25th November the Lubricant Marketer’s supplier responded to the complaint providing evidence of meeting the performance claim which was passed back to the Technical Review Panel.
VLS accepted the evidence submitted and closed the investigation subject to a six-month review in line with its stated process.
On 7th August 2026 VLS undertook a six-month review of the case in line with its stated process.
At the six-month review the supplier again advised again that they were still procuring the approved product and confirmed that it met the June 2024 version of the specification. (i.e. version 2) which is a valid claim. On the Technical Data Sheet a formal approval is not referenced on the rebranded product, which is correct.
Based on the information and evidence provided, VLS is content to close the case on a compliant basis.
